H&R BLockWelcome to the block.
Starting a new job is a big moment. H&R Block wanted an onboarding experience that felt like one.
Rather than designing for an employee’s first 30 days, we thought bigger—creating a welcoming, memorable experience that could grow with employees throughout their careers at Block. A place to get oriented, find what they need, and come back to whenever they need it.
We brought that vision to life through three distinct creative concepts, each with its own identity, voice, and tangible items that showed just how far the idea could go.

Green Space
We're all a little green when we start a new job — and Green Space celebrates that. Designed as a more robust, social networking-like experience, Green Space is a place where new employees can plant their roots and grow.
Kelly
A subtle nod to H&R Block's signature Kelly green, Kelly is all about support and inclusivity. We even envision featuring a non-binary, AI-powered chatbot on the intranet to help new employees get to where they need to go.
Square One
It's back to basics with Square One. This concept meets the ask with a refreshed look and feel. Square One would fold into the current new hire ecosystem to make the experience smoother and more modern.
